Holy Family Church Job Progression
Step 1, scan the image provided. Subject is a window in the new sanctuary of Holy Family Catholic Church, Clemmons, North Carolina.

Step 2, Edit the JPG image, isolate the figures, remove cross bars, reposition dove.

Step 3, Trace the image by hand in digitizing software building fill areas and line work.
|
Step 4, Assigning colors from a pallet of 12 available on a 12 needle machine.
More colors can be used but require thread changes while sewing.

Steps 5, 7, 9, 11, Test sew-outs.
No matter how good the art looks on the computer screen the thread looks different when sewn.

Steps 6, 8, 10, 12 Edits between each sew-out.
Each corner point and line is meticulasly edited between each sew-out.

Step 13, Final sew-outs.
The small sweat shirt size patterns were about 4 inches (100mm) square and took about 45 minutes to embroider.
The larger 8" (200mm) detailed pattern takes two and a half hours to sew-out.
Between each sew out of the large pattern minor adjustments were made.
